and the blind shall see....

I just got an email from a YWAM Kona team we have in Guam. They said upon arriving in the airport a team member saw someone who was blind and felt prompted by God to pray for the man. He hesitantly went over and shared with the blind man, who he was and what they were doing in Guam and asked if he could pray for him. The blind man, eager for prayer bowed his head. After the student finished praying, the man lifted his head and he was healed!!! I'm not sure who was in more shock, the student or the man!!! Praise God!!

Porky the Pig

Something we are trying to do on the YWAM campus at the moment is become self-sustaining (grow our own vegetables, fruit, animals and also eventually go solar). One of the ways we do this, is catching wild pigs and putting them in an enclosure on campus. Every now and then I get the "pleasure" of preparing one for the evening meal. We usually cook it "Luau" style in the ground.

Coming and Going

This week we are sending almost 300 students and staff to the nations for the outreach phase of their Discipleship Training School. They will be gone for 3 months, serving and partnering with ministries and churches in the different cities and villages they will be living in. Here is a list of the nations we are sending teams: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, India, Guam, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Africa.

As these teams depart, we are in preparation for the new DTS's to start (in January). Last week as I taught in the DTS Staff Training, I felt so excited to be apart of what is happening on this base, it's a constant cycle of training and sending. It's all about "knowing God and making Him known."

Can you hear me now?

We are now halfway into the DTS lecture phase, in just over 5 weeks, more than 200 staff and students will be heading out to the nations for their outreaches. Yesterday morning during a time of worship a friend of mine, Joe, was praying for one of the DTS students, Duke. For the past 8 years Duke has been wearing hearing aids. As Joe began praying for him, he felt he was to ask Duke to take his hearing aids out. He sensed that God wanted to heal Duke, hestitantly he said to Duke “Do you mind taking your hearing aids out, I would like to pray for God to restore your hearing.” Duke said as soon as Joe laid his hands on his ears, he felt a pop and in an instant, for the first time in more than 8 years he was able to hear clearly without his hearing aids – go God!! I had Duke share his story this morning in front of the other DTS students, people could hardly contain their excitement!!
